The subject considers the history of East Asian architecture as a whole
within a systematic treatment of architectural design and construction,
building science and technology, garden design and city planning. The course
lays stress equally on architecture, gardens and planning with an emphasis on
ideas and techniques. Topics include the formation and development of
vernacular architecture, timber architecture, city, palace, garden, ritual
architecture, tombs and educational architecture.
